Nancy Ann Makenzie, age 62, died at home in the loving care of her family on June 9, 2020, ending her short journey with cancer.
Nancy was born on March 3, 1958, in Duluth, MN, to George and Millicent Carlson. She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1976 and attended the London Road Technical School. She worked as a retail clerk with her last employment at Miner’s Super One Grocery. Nancy always had a welcoming and ready smile for her customers and the people she worked with.
Nancy was a spiritual person. Her spirituality was rooted in the human connection with the Universe. She was always mindful of her alignment with the stars and the nature of the soul. Human, earthly connections were valued in a space of respect and inclusion. Nancy was a poet and her poetry often spoke to the grace in healing. She also enjoyed listening to music and photographing nature.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Michael Carlson.
She is survived by her loved and loving sons Jamie Osberg and Jesse Osberg; brother Gregory Carlson (Sherri); sisters Diane Kolquist (James Seitz), Trisha Marincel (David) and Susan Anderson ( Steven); cousin Kathy Johnson, nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed as mom, sister, aunt, friend and poet.
