In Remembrance

July 10th, 2023, Howard Lee Dell, 72, of Granby, MO, passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

Howard was born in Granby, Missouri on November 29th, 1950, to Lee Dell and Ethyldene (Scholes). Howard lived the military lifestyle as his father Lee was enlisted in the United States Army as a photographer while his mother Ethyldene would work in the offices of nearby military bases. Howard graduated in 1968 from Aurora Central High School, in Colorado. Howard was raised as an only child but surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Howard and his wife Donna Dell (Novak) married on August 19th, 1981, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Howard and Donna met in Conifer, Colorado where they later moved to St. Paul to begin their family. Howard and Donna brought into the world on Father’s Day 1984, their daughter Deanna (Dell) Benjamin. Howard had a stepdaughter Lisa Gipson who was also a considerable part of his life. Howard was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Howard and Donna loved to travel, they often would take last-minute trips, spend long winters in warmer climates, and they were known for getting in the car on any given Sunday or snowstorm to set out to find a good restaurant or even just for a drive. Howard and Donna always found adventure in entrepreneurship, from the Packaging Stores in the Twin Cities areas to the area’s first CBRF, Northern Residence in Hawthorne, WI. Howard was an avid fisherman and loved to spend time on the water.

Howard is proceeded in death by his parents Lee, Ethyldene, and stepson John. Howard is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Deanna and Nicholas Benjamin, stepdaughter Lisa Gipson, and grandsons Cayden, Brogan, and Symon.
