You have left us Dave and we cannot help but feel the loss. But no one can take away the memories you’ve left behind . You left an immeasurable mark on the horse world and you were an inspiration for countless young equestrians and horse enthusiasts from all around. You were a friend to animals , creatures great and small .And you were a friend , mentor , and inspiration to so many ! You will always be sadly missed but never forgotten.

Dave was a one of a kind guy(a very special one). He loved what he did and always entertained those around him, whether he was managing a show, announcing at a show, or entertaining us at dinner after a show. He enjoyed sharing his love of food and always had a story, or two , or three to tell. Dave will be missed and remembered as one of the good ones.

Dave and I were fellow trombone players at Central. We had a lot of fun. He also played football and one day he hadn’t shaved. I asked him why and he said, “It made him look more fierce.” I took pictures of him in the Western Ramblers and went to gigs at Beaner’s Bar in Superior. He also played in a rock band in high school and I took pictures of their last gig at the Duluth Heights Community Club. Also l, saw him and enjoyed hog gigs with the Mods.. He was a wonderful friend and an excellent trombone, bass player and drummer. Glory days.
