In Remembrance

David Eugene Anderson, 71, died peacefully December 29, 2022 in Duluth. He was born in Duluth on June 24, 1951 to Howard and Doris (Broman) Anderson.

Graduating from Central High School in 1969, Dave called Duluth home, but traveled extensively. He was an announcer and contractor for hunter/jumper equestrian events, which took him all over the United States and Canada. Dave loved what he did for a living, often saying if he wanted to retire, he’d have to get a job. He also loved entertaining with music, food, and laughter. He was a member of the College of Saint Scholastica’s Mod Minstrels, The Western Ramblers, and would play gigs wherever there was a drum set available. His happy place was when on drums with his buddies in the “Forth Storey.” When not entertaining with music, he shared his talent as a chef, hosting elaborate and delicious multi-course Thanksgiving dinners, as well as catering gatherings and events. It was important to him that everyone enjoyed good times and friendship.

His parents preceded him in death. Survivors include his long-time partner, Kim Heytens of Duluth; brothers Dennis (Lois) of Truckee, CA and Dean (Cynthia O’Brien) of Rochester, MN; niece Krista (Dennis) Conners of Beaverton, OR and nephew Kyle (Tamara) Anderson, of San Luis Obispo, CA; special cousin, Linda (Jim) Finn of Duluth; and many dear friends.

Per his wishes, there will be no service.
