Yvonne “Bonnie” Lorraine Anderson age 71 years of Barnum, MN, found peace on December 25, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family and friends after a short courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie was born November 26, 1950, to Arvid and Lillian Anderson. She was raised on the family farm in Cromwell, MN with her five siblings.

After graduating from Cromwell High School in 1968, Bonnie took on numerous roles in her life, the greatest caregiver anyone has met. Bonnie married William “Bill” Unkelhaeuser in 1971. They established the family farm, Old Style Acres, in Mahtowa, MN where they raised their three children. Her unconditional love and grace were later passed on to their nine grandchildren.

Bonnie had many hobbies including quilting, gardening, agate picking and card making. Bonnie especially enjoyed teaching ceramics out of her basement to the ladies and traveling to weekend sales. Her talent for ceramics was shared with her only beloved sister, Judy. Their shared passion established B & J’s Ceramics. In her later years, she returned to her original calling of caregiver and was working as a PCA up until October 2021.

Bonnie was welcomed home by her parents, Arvid and Lillian Anderson; her big brother, Tony Anderson; Brother-in-law, David Johnson; and her mother-in-law, L. Margaret Anderson. Bonnie’s legacy and love lives on through her three beloved children: Bryan (Judi) Unkelhaeuser, Amanda (Mark) Agurkis and Jessica Unkelhaeuser. Her nine honeys, aka grandchildren: Tyler Olson, Noah Unkelhaeuser, Siara Unkelhaeuser, Isaiah Unkelhaeuser, Mason Agurkis, Mallory Yvonne Agurkis, Miles Agurkis, Lillian Unkelhaeuser, and Lindy LeDoux. Her cherished siblings: Arvin (Bonnie) Anderson, Eugene (Joey) Anderson, Judy (Dave) Johnson and John (Cheryl) Anderson. Numerous adored nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers and residents. During Bonnie’s short courageous battle with cancer her angels Mallory Agurkis and Siara Unkelhaeuser displayed a love like no other supported by their rock, Great Aunt Judy Johnson.

The family wants to acknowledge and say thank you for all the love and support through visits, filling mom’s home with beautiful flowers and many messages sent and received by friends and family. It truly demonstrates the number of lives mom touched in one way or another. Mom’s wishes will be carried out through a celebration of life held January 2, 2022, at the Barnum Community United Methodist Church, 3762 Front St, Barnum, MN, from 2PM-5PM. A short prayer service at 4PM and light refreshments and desserts will be provided.
