Valerie Rae (Martin) Ciurleo
Born January 11, 1940 to Fred and Florence (Gyllenborg) Martin in Duluth, Minnesota and went to sleep in Jesus on September 24, 2022 at the age of
82.
Val is survived by her husband Thomas Ciurleo of Duluth MN; daughters Terrie Bayless (David) of Alvarado TX and Linda Drury (Donald) of Duluth
MN; son Thomas Ciurleo (Veronica) of Duluth MN; brothers Arthur Martin and Jerry Martin (Linda), and sister Bunnie (Martin) Katich; granddaughters
Valerie Long of Plano TX, and Samantha Ciurleo of St. Cloud MN; great grandson Vance Welker; as well as step grand- and great-grandchildren,
many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Randine Okoneski, and brother Frederick Martin.
Val will be remembered for her loving heart and arms she extended to numerous foster children, relatives, and friends — not only in Duluth, but
also in her 20 years living in Las Vegas. Val’s beautiful example of love and service to others will live in the hearts of
all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Duluth Harbor Mission (duluthhm.org) would be meaningful and appreciated.
