Timothy Michael Mackey, 68, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 in Duluth, Minnesota.

Tim was born on February 21, 1954 to James and Gladys (Nygaard) Mackey in Duluth, Minnesota. He graduated from Duluth East High School in 1972.

Tim served for six years in the US Army and US Army Reserve.

Tim traveled the world as an employee for Custom Rock International in St. Paul, Minnesota. He worked with many talented artists and designers during his career who designed and built the rock displays for many of the Cabela stores, the Great Lakes Aquarium, and the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. Tim took great pride as a member of the construction crew of these and many other projects at locations around the world.

Tim loved his tortoise, fishing, blues music, abstract art, and interesting conversations with people from all walks of life.

With family by his side, his soul left this world to explore the universe with no pain. Surviving are his brothers John (Judy) Mackey of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Christopher Mackey (Patty Olson) of Superior, Wisconsin, sisters Susan (James) Brown of Duluth, Minnesota, and Penny Mackey of Leadville, Colorado, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A family committal service will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Saginaw.
