Sylvia S Sanders
November 23, 1924 - June 17, 2019
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday August 4th at the Meadowlands Community Center.
Sylvia Sanders of Meadowlands, MN, passed away on Monday June 17th, 2019 at the age of 94. She was born November 23, 1924 to John Jacob “Jack” and Cecelia (Puttonen) Sorvari at their home in Toivola MN.
She married DeWayne Sanders on September 22, 1942. They raised 5 children. Sylvia was a homemaker, and occasionally worked for her Aunt Gen and Cliss Burkhardt when they owned the Bio café and service station in Meadowlands. She also worked as a home health aide with Senior Friend. Sylvia was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Sylvia and Dewayne enjoyed spending winters in Apache Junction AZ from 1985-2009.
Sylvia loved to bake, was known in the community for her delicious pies. She loved children, her dog Maggie and watching the birds and animals. The love of her family was very important to her. She was always kind, compassionate, with a tender loving spirit. Sylvia often would say, “Love one another”.
Preceded in death by; husband DeWayne; her parents; her siblings, Aili, Eino, Aune, Elma, Arvid, and Mae.
Sylvia is survived by; her children, Dede (David) Mattson, Timothy Sanders, Thomas (Denise) Sanders, Bonnie (Danny) Watsula, Randall Sanders; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and extended family and friends.
