Steven William Majewski, age 53 passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at his favorite place in the world, the Linwood Lake Log cabin he helped to build.

Steve was born on November 30th, 1968, to Bill and Sue Majewski in Duluth, MN. He was joined by a little sister, Aniele in 1975 whom he adored and let follow him everywhere.

Steve graduated from Cathedral High School in 1986, attended University of Wisconsin Eau Claire for 2 years and finished college at the U of MN—Duluth with a Bachelors Degree in History, in 1993.

Steve showed a love for all things outdoors at a very early age. The cabin project began when Steve was only 6 and never truly finished; he was involved in all steps of the process—finding the trees to build with, cutting them and pulling them through the woods to the building site using no power tools for the job instead building in the traditional way. It was a haven for him and our family. Steve loved to hunt and fish and trap, make fishing lures, and even crafted a few of his own poles.

Steve followed his passion for the outdoors after graduating college, working for many years in sales at Marine General and later at Lake Superior Steelhead Association. He valued the flexibility these jobs provided giving him the time to pursue all his interests—-which were many. Steve was an avid reader of all topics but especially history; his bookshelf was indeed an impressive library; so too was his music and video collection.  Steve was an accomplished cook, especially when grilling on one of his many vintage Weber Kettles he had restored. Steve was into metals as well, panning for it, detecting it and collecting many varieties of special coins.

Steve loved to laugh and never missed an opportunity to share his wonderful humor and sharp wit.

Steve is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Hazel Hawse, Chester and Wanda Majewski, Uncles David Majewski and Bob Hawse, Aunt Dee Hawse and cousin Brandon Kelley and Robert Majewski’s wife Shelly.

He is survived by his parents, Bill and Sue and sister Aniele (John) Legarde, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be a visitation at 10am on Saturday, October 29th followed by an 11 am  Memorial Service at the Benedictine Living Community Chapel. 935 Kenwood Avenue, Duluth, MN.
