A celebration of Ron’s life will be held on Friday, February 11th at Mission Covenant Church in Poplar starting with 9:00 am visitation, memorial services at 11:00 and lunch to follow at the church.

Ronald Lee Pearson, 78, Superior, WI, passed away unexpectedly on February 1, 2022. Ron was a lifelong resident of Poplar, Superior and Brule and cherished the many friendships developed as a student, teacher, coach, Special Olympics volunteer, FEX fraternity, sports player and outdoorsman. His sisu to fight MS will forever be admired. He is excited to walk again this spring to the Brule River for the fishing opener to set the hook.

Ron was born May 27, 1943 in Superior, WI to Glenn and Jane Pearson graduating from Northwestern High School in 1961. For over 30 years, Ron was a dedicated math teacher at East Junior High School in Superior while also coaching many winning teams of youth baseball and basketball and supporting the family farm in Poplar.

Ron loved his family and the buck camp traditions of sauna, cards, poker night, hunting and canoeing. He is preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Pearson and is survived by his three sons, Rich (Pam) of Woodbury, MN, Michael of Superior, and Andy (Cherese) of Ankeny, IA; five grandchildren, Ricky (Jamie), Tanner (Mary), Hope (Tristen), Mia and Bryer; five great grandchildren, Baylor, Layson, Paisley, Walker, and Brixton; sister, Elaine Sleeman (John) of Iron River and brother Reed Pearson (Pam) of Poplar, and several nieces and nephews.
