In Remembrance

Bob was always one of my favorite members at Spooner Golf Course. He was such a pleasant person and always had a smile on his face. I can’t remember a single time when a negative word ever came out of his mouth. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome and was truly an ambassador—not only for Spooner Golf Club, but for our entire community. His kindness and positive spirit will be deeply missed, but he will never be forgotten. My thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences go out to Bob’s family and his many friends during this difficult time.

I had Bob as a teacher at North in the 1970s. He was a great guy and awesome teacher. I credit him for my pursuing a career in the social sciences. My deepest condolences to his family.

Mary Lou and Family, Carol and I have been thinking of you all day. In Bob, we lost a great friend, and our hearts go out to all of you. Today we found ourselves talking about memories—fishing, hunting, the Canada Scotch Lake camping trip, athletics, our free-throw contests (where I didn’t stand a chance), and an endless amount of golf fun. Life is a beautiful trip, greatly enhanced by people like Bob. We were very fortunate to call him a great friend. Eons ago, while teaching, Mary Lou once said that sometimes it is best to laugh instead of cry. Today, as we reflected on Bob, we laughed a lot. I think that is exactly what he would have wanted.
