In Remembrance

Robert Mann Allan, 91, of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, passed away on September 16, 2026.

Bob was born in Minneapolis to Robert B. and Marion Allan. He graduated from Roosevelt High School and Macalester College. He proudly served in the Minnesota Army National Guard and worked for the City of Minneapolis for 30 years.

Bob married the love of his life, Barbara, and the two shared 68 years of marriage. They raised their three children in Bloomington, MN, before retiring to Gull Lake, where they spent 27 years. Wanting to simplify and be closer to their children, they moved to Grand Rapids two years ago.

Bob was a founding member of Timberwood Church in Nisswa, and was active in its growth. He enjoyed volunteering for Habitat for Humanity for 30 years.

Bob enjoyed taking the family on camping trips in their Bethany camper, ski trips to Colorado, summers at the cabin in Deerwood, and spending a month in Florida each winter. He enjoyed playing the trombone in “Sentimental Journey”, a big band formed with some friends. He took flying lessons in his 80s! He loved watching Lawrence Welk on Saturday night, and always had a cup of coffee in his hand.

Preceded in death by his parents, Robert B. and Marion, and his sister, Nancy. Survived by his wife Barb; his children, Tim, Pam, and Kris and their spouses; 22 beloved grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
