Visitation will be held at the Hope Lutheran Church in Floodwood, MN on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10:00 am, Memorial Service at 11:00 am with full Military Honors following the service at the Hope Lutheran
Church. Private burial will be at a later date.

Robert Allen Hosking, 81 of Floodwood, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth, MN.
He was born August 17, 1942, in Duluth, MN, to John and Saima Hosking. He was raised in Duluth and Floodwood, MN, and graduated from the Floodwood School in 1960. Two weeks after graduation, Bob enlisted in the Navy and was a radio man on the U.S.S Waldron. He was active for three years and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn, on Christmas day 1960.
After the Navy, they returned to Floodwood and raised their family in Van Buren Township. Bob was employed at United Truck Body in Hermantown for several years and then went to Hibbing Taconite as a mechanic and retired in 2005.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents John and Saima, infant son Rory, and daughter Carmen.

He is survived and sadly missed by his wife of 63 years Carolyn, two daughters: Shelly Grangruth (Ivan) of Cambridge, and Jennifer Myles (Tim) of Floodwood, son in law Randy Thompson of Floodwood, sister
Claudia Peippo (Leslie), and nephew David of Floodwood, nine grandchildren and spouses, 15 great-grandchildren and one on the way, as well as many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the St. Luke’s 6 West and ICU staff for the care that was given to Bob.
