Richard Lee Hallfrisch, “Dick,” passed away peacefully of natural causes at Benedictine Health Center on Sept 4, 2023. He was born June 5, 1938, in Duluth, MN.

Saying he had an abundance of Love for his family would be an understatement, and he will be greatly missed. Dick attended St. Peter and Paul polish Catholic School and retired from St Louis county as shop foreman in 1998. He was President of the MN trapping association from 1977-1979, as well as an AA Member and Sponsor. He always enjoyed spending time in the woods trapping, camping, harvesting wood, or just spending time in God’s country. He took countless motorcycle trips, spent many hours rebuilding old iron head sportsters, and took part in Modified dirt track racing at Proctor, MN. These activities, along with spending time with his family, are what brought Dick the most joy throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by the following: his parents, Anna and Oliver Hallfrisch, his siblings, Carol Nelson, and Dale Hallfrisch.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Doris Hallfrisch; his children Joe & Angie Hallfrisch of Gauthier, MS, Kathy & Jerry Decker of Duluth, MN, Danny Hallfrisch of Alborn, MN, David & Tina Hallfrisch of Saginaw, MN, and Dawn & Jay Mahon of Duluth, MN; his grandchildren Danielle and Danny Peterson, Kris and Nikki Hallfrisch, Nicole and Adam Clemons, Trisha Decker, Ben and Ann Hallfrisch, Samantha Hallfrisch and Neil Baumgarner, Mathew Decker, Brandon Soderlund, and Jaydon Soderlund; his many great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.
