There will be a memorial service on Friday, October 14 at 11:00am at Park Hill Cemetery 2500 Vermilion Road. A celebration of life luncheon will follow the service at Mr. D’s Banquet Room 5622 Grand Avenue from 12:00pm to 2:00pm.
Richard Dennis Grumdahl, 74, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Essentia Health Hospice at Miller Dwan, Duluth, MN. He was born December 18, 1947, in Duluth, MN to Einar and Joyce Grumdahl.
Rick worked in a variety of fields throughout his life, aboard Great Lakes freighters, as an independent home and residential painter, and as an antique trader. His passion was collecting; antiques, books, anything he found interesting. Rick enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time on the North Shore. He was a loving father and grandfather with a wonderful sense of humor and a kind heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Ronald. Rick is survived by his daughter Lisa (Jerod) Boisjoli, granddaughters Hannah Smith and Addison Boisjoli, sisters Loretta Ronding, Roberta (Larry) Monchamp, Kathy Olson, Connie (Chuck) Amborn, and brothers Jeff (Lori) Grumdahl, Mike (Judy) Grumdahl, and Randy (Sandy) Grumdahl, and many nieces, nephews, and friends, including life-long friend Richard Pietrusa and special friend Barb Remington.
