August 24, 1953 - May 19, 2022
A Celebration of Life will honor Rick on June 19, 2022; 1 – 4 pm at Chambers Grove Park,
Highway 23 & 137th Avenue West, Duluth, MN 55808.
On Thursday, May 19, 2022, Richard “Rick” David DeMars passed away peacefully at the age of
68. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 24, 1953, to Avis and Jack DeMars.
Rick was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
He was always good for a laugh, to listen and give advice whether you wanted it or not. He
enjoyed working on cars, playing his guitar, listening to music, making fishing lures and jewelry.
Trading for trinkets, finding value in everything he laid his eyes on and caring for the people he
called family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra DeMars and Tricia Swapinski (Daughter). He is
survived by Jack, Gene, Irene, Glenn and Dennis (siblings) and their families. His children Billy,
Sherri, Jessica, Delena, Jennifer and Sean and their families, as well as many grandchildren
and great grandchildren.
