In Remembrance

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Rebecca Lynn Smith, affectionately known as Becky, at the age of 54 in Duluth, MN.

Becky was born on March 20th, 1969, and was a graduate of Duluth Central High School, where she completed her education in 1987. Becky was also an enrolled member of the Lake Superior Red Cliff Band of Ojibwa.

Throughout her life, she embarked on various adventures, traveling extensively and experiencing different places. In recent years, she had made Duluth her home. Becky will be fondly remembered for her unassuming thoughtfulness, her creativity, and her passion for the arts. She had a special love for beading, crafts, and spending quality time with her beloved daughter, Heavyn, who was the light of her life.

Becky is survived by her cherished daughter, Heavyn Roubinek, as well as her father, Terry (Kathy) Smith, and her mother, Janice Schoenborn. She also leaves behind her brothers: Terry (Suzi) Smith Jr, Eric Smith, Nick (Caitlyn) Smith, and Nate Smith, along with her sisters: Angie Smith, Natalie Smith (Sara Mangan), and Tina (Mike) Sullivan as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Rupert Smith, Mary Lou Pouti, Paul and Lorraine Schoenborn, as well as her cousin, Peter Nilsson, and her nephew, Axton Dylan Whitfield.

In honor of Becky’s memory, her immediate family will hold a private ceremony.
