A Memorial Service for Ray will be held at 11am, Friday, March 18, 2022, at Peace in Christ Lutheran Church, 5007 Maple Grove Road, Hermantown, MN.
Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.

Raymond S. Nelson, 57 died peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
Ray (JR) was born on April 24, 1964, to Raymond and Margaret (Trihey) Nelson in Aurora, MN. After graduating from Aurora-Hoyt Lakes High School in 1983 he attended Eveleth Vo-Tech. Ray was employed at Calvary Auto Salvage and NAPA Auto Parts in Duluth, MN for many years. From an early age, Ray had an apparent mechanical ability and was able to fix anything on wheels. He loved to work on his Ford Mustangs, build models, ride dirt bikes, snowmobiles and race RC cars with his sons. Ray loved listening to music and was happiest when driving one of his many vehicles. Ray was a kind and generous person at heart and would stop to help anyone in need.
Ray is survived by his sons Teth (Kodi) Wood, Jeremy Olson, Camron and Jadon Nelson, granddaughter Zoe, his mother Margaret Nelson, sisters, Jackie (Maddy) Nelson, Teresa (Brett) Collier and fiancé Wendy Royce.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife Rochelle and his father Raymond E. Nelson.
