In Remembrance

Ray Hanson, 69, of Duluth, MN. Passed away peacefully at Essentia Health on April 27th, 2025 with his family by his side. He was born on November 4th, 1955 to Robert and Delores Hanson. Ray married Sue Roach on February 12th, 1988. Ray was a member of the United Steelworkers Local 1028 and worked for Duluth Steel Fabricators until 2016 when he was forced to retire due to his health. Then he enjoyed singing karaoke, playing LRC, and most of all camping.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his infant son Joshua; great granddaughter Paisley; brothers Bob and Rich. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Sue(Roach); daughters Sheila Kyrola(Keith Warner), Christine Anderson, Jennifer and Katie Hanson(Lyle Molskness); grandkids Jessa(Allen Berthiaume), Jake and Jon Marczark(Sam Berg), Brandon and Lizzee Anderson, and Donny Ronning III; great grandkids Collin Berthiaume, Hunter and Troy Marczark, Olivia Anderson; sisters Wanda McKinnon, Gloria(Bob) Winkels; brothers Rusty(Peggy) and Rick(Heather) Hanson; sister-in-laws Diane Peterson and Kathy Hanson; ex son-in-law Mike Marczark; a wide circle of cousins, nieces, nephews, and so many friends.

We were all so fortunate to have had him with us for the last 9 years. Ray was always happy to see you, treated everyone like family and he loved everyone just the way they were. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Come help us celebrate his life on Wednesday May 7th from 1-4pm at the Proctor Moose Lodge. Dress casual (Flannel shirts)- Ray wouldn’t want it any other way.
