Pearl May Olson, age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 27, 2024, at 11:50 pm in Duluth, MN. She was born to Sigred and Matt Leinonen on April 22, 1933, in Alango, MN. Pearl grew up in Alango, MN, and graduated from Alango High School. She pursued her passion for education, earning a Teaching degree from Saint Cloud State and later completing her Masters degree in Special Education at UMD.

Pearl married the love of her life, Don Olson, on July 18, 1953, at Alango Lutheran Church. Together, they resided in Duluth, where they both worked in public schools and raised their three children.

She enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Lake Vermillion, traveling, and fishing for walleye and trout. Pearl had a talent for baking, particularly with blueberries, and was known for her delicious blueberry pies, muffins, and pancakes. She was also an avid card player, enjoying games like bridge and backout with family and friends.

Pearl’s unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and her deep love for her family were her greatest treasures. She is survived by her devoted husband, Don, her children Joel (Linda), Laural (Gary) Peterson, and Jane (Larry) Bloom, as well as 7 cherished grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Lakeview Covenant at noon on Sunday, April 7th, with a luncheon to follow. A live streaming link will be available at 11:50 at lakeviewcovenant.online.church.
