Nina Mae Kolenda passed away peacefully Thursday February 29, 2024 at Diamond Willow (Lester Park) in Duluth, Mn. Nina was born March 14, 1938 in Duluth, Mn. She attended Proctor High School. She married Donald Kolenda October 14, 1955. Together they raised six children; David, Ronnie, Donna, Rick, Robin and Brad. Nina retired from Target, where she enjoyed working on the price changing team. Nina also helped run Kolenda Sand, Gravel and Trucking, a family business.
Nina was preceded in death by her husband Don, parents Raymond and Dorothy (Nelson) Brause, and sister Eileen Hink. She is survived by her six children David, Ron (Roni), Donna (Marty), Rick (Terry), Robin (Kyle), and Brad (Tonya); grandchildren Tara, Sammi, Brydon, Halle, Joren, and Kaiden; great-grandchildren Jade and Sonya; sisters Sharon (John) and Delores (Bill); and her dear friend Karin.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the love and support shown to our mom since the passing of our dad in 2019. Our mom wanted a small family gathering to celebrate her life. We, as a family, are honoring those wishes.
The family extends a huge thank you to the staff at Diamond Willow (Lester Park) for the loving care given to our mom. Too many to name individually but you know who you are.
