Nathan A Bartelt

February 10, 1939 - May 15, 2025

Nathan A. Bartelt, 86, of Mammoth Spring, AR and formerly of Rockford, IL, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Essentia Health-St. Mary Medical Center, Duluth, MN.

Nate was born February 10, 1939, near Browntown, WI, the youngest child of Charles and Viola nee Grabow Bartelt. He was married to Carol Lingbeck March 2, 1962, in Rockford, IL. They divorced in 1981.

In his youth, Nate was a respected softball pitcher and bowler. He was adept at working on cars and doing body work. He was employed by Rockford Trailer Sales and Service, repairing semi-trailers before his retirement. He was a proficient welder and painter. After retiring, Nate moved to Mammoth Spring where he spent his winters, returning to Rockford each summer. Several years ago, he began living in Northern Wisconsin during the summer months where he enjoyed fishing daily.

Survivors include two children: Ken Bartelt and Karen Kiesling; sons-in-law, Ken Wengert and Mike Kiesling; two grandchildren, Hannah Geesey (Aaron) and Andrew (Chandler) Kiesling; two great-grandchildren: Rowan Geesey and Audrey Kiesling; and longtime friend and fishing companion, Larry Johnson. He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters and his former wife in 2018.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life may be held at a future date.
