Myles Xavier Byrd, of Duluth passed away suddenly on Monday August 7th, 2023, at the age of 16.

Born August 10th 2006 in Duluth MN.  He is survived by his loving parents Alicia and Warren; sisters Donita (Lorraine), niece Koda’ray and Donisha, and his little brother Lincoln.  His Uncles Anthony and Frances, Grandmothers Victoria, and Shirley.  His girlfriend Nya, and so many other close aunts, uncles, friends, and family.

Myles was preceded in death by his Grandfather Charles, as well as many friends and family that also passed too soon.

Myles was always a spirited young man who loved his family, loved his community yet always found it difficult to truly feel and receive the love and support they gave back to him.  He struggled with his mental health from a young age and found it difficult to find peace.  This led him down paths and choices that would prove to make life challenging.   Through the support of his family, community, church, school and youth programs he found pockets of happiness.  His presence could light up a room and made for the some of the best times of laughter. His hugs were big would swallow a person whole and his smile was infectious.  His love and care for those around him was felt by all.

Myles lives on eternally in paradise, not only in the hearts and minds of those who knew him, but in the trickle, effects felt by those in school, recovery community, church and extended friends and family.

A celebration in honor of Myles’ life and for mourning his death will take place at the Duluth Vineyard, at 1533 W Arrowhead Rd and officiated by Pastor Chad Amborn of Westside Vineyard on Friday August 18th from 1-3pm.  All are welcome, please come as you are, and join us as we share and celebrate stories about the beautiful memories so many have about our beloved Myles.
