Michael Edward Seifert, age 70, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Viewcrest Health Center in Duluth, MN following a brief illness.
Michael was raised in Park Falls, WI and Wausau, WI before enlisting in the United States Army. He graduated from the Nuernberg American High School in Germany and served in the Army until 1975. Michael married Marilyn Altman in 1976; they were later divorced. He spent his career as a millwright at the paper mill in Park Falls and enjoyed coaching little league, hunting, and fishing in his free time. Following his retirement, he moved to Ironwood, MI. He loved spending time with his grandsons.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Seifert and Marjorie June Brahmer. He is survived by his children, Peter (Kari) Seifert of Ironwood, MI and Olivia (Michael) Buncher of Superior, WI; his grandchildren, Reese and Elijah Seifert, John Buncher, and another grandson (Buncher) expected in December 2023; his siblings, Robert (Barb) Seifert of Hazelhurst, WI, Diane (Peter) Kronberger of Park Falls, WI, and MaryAnn (Michael) Hilgart of Park Falls, WI; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Aspirus, Avanti Home Health Services, the VA, and Viewcrest Health Center for their care in Michael’s final months.
In accordance with Michael’s wishes, no service will be held.
