He attended Central High in Superior for his Freshman and Sophomore years and was part of the second class to graduate from Superior Senior High in 1967. He went on to join the Marines and served in Vietnam from 1968-1969 where he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal when he was wounded in battle. He worked at Cenex Harvest States for 35 years which was once known as Farmer’s Union.

Mike also loved acrylic painting, cooking; especially fudge and bread), gardening, biking through Jay Cooke State Park, making jewelry; which he gave away as gifts, and helping Cathy with her pet chickens who laid plenty of eggs.

Mike was active member at Calvary Baptist Church in Superior for along time before he fell away from the Lord, but rejoined the Church on the morning of death. Special thanks to Pastor Alan Schroeder for his many years of counsel and friendship with Mike.
