Melvin W. Ledin, 95, lifelong Superior resident, died Monday December 30, 2019 peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Superior, March 22, 1924 the son of Frank and Alma (Wagner) Ledin.

He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps at the Pattison Park Camp. Melvin also was a WWII Army combat veteran, serving in Italy and his Red Bull 34th Division patch is on display at the Bong Memorial Center.

Melvin was employed by the Northern Pacific Railroad and later the Burlington Northern Railroad for 34 years. He enjoyed boating and fishing at his cabin, going ATV riding, watching the Packers, decorating his man cave, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by; wife Pauline; his parents; brothers Oliver, Willets, Charles, and sister Florence Novacinski.

Melvin is survived by; daughters Sandra (Paul) Drobat of Muskego, WI, Gale Ledin, sons Larry (Janet) Ledin, Mark Ledin of Superior, WI; grandchildren Paul Jr. (Hannah) Drobot of New Berlin, WI, Steven (Abby) Drobot of Muskego, WI, Brian (Pam) Ledin of Washburn, WI, Amy Ledin of Minneapolis, MN; great-grandchildren Benjamin, Lacey, Daisy and Fielder Drobot of Muskego, WI, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
