In Remembrance

Mary Joann Chabot, 93, of Duluth died at home on Tuesday, May 17, 2022

surrounded by her loving children. Although preceded in death by her parents, sister and brothers she was most anxious to be together again with her one true love, husband Marshall Lloyd Chabot.

She leaves behind her cherished children: Joanne Chabot, Marcia Chabot (Craig Simensen), Tim Chabot, Dave Chabot (Cathy), Suzanne Deans (Tom), Mary Chabot, Patty Tollefson (Dan), Michael Chabot (Tamara Rosencrantz), Cathy Lutzka (Steve) along with 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Mary had a life full of summers at the cabins on Big Alden and Island Lakes, and world traveling adventures. During the fall and winter she volunteered with Duluth hospice programs, delivering Meals On Wheels, and had a seat on the Minnesota Board on Aging. Her pastimes included playing bridge with her family growing up and later with her friends, reading, hosting large family gatherings and watching the multitudes of birds who visited just outside her windows. There will be a celebration of life scheduled at a later date along with the internment of her ashes at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers her wish was to have donations sent to St. Croix Hospice, 1725A Maple Grove Rd., Duluth, MN, 55811 (put “Mary Chabot” in the check memo), or if you have time, consider volunteering to deliver Meals on Wheels.
