Mary Halstead

A memorial service for Mary will be at St. Elizabeth Church in Duluth on Friday, October 28 at 11 am. (Address 610 99th Ave. West.) Visitation is at 10 am and a luncheon in Mary’s memory will follow the service in the church hall.
Mary Halstead, 84, lost a brief battle with cancer and passed away peacefully with her children at her side on Thursday, October 13th.
Mary was born in Duluth on September 14, 1938, to George and Yvonne Vosika. She graduated from Duluth Cathedral in 1956 and took business classes at UMD. Mary worked at various jobs but spent the majority of her working career as an executive secretary at UMD.
Mary enjoyed playing games with her family and friends. She was a very competitive game player who won more times than she lost. She was an excellent cook and an avid reader.
Mary loved her family, her cabin on Spring Lake and her cats.
Mary is survived by her daughters Stephanie Fehringer (Bruce) and Tracy Rowe (David) and sons Jeffrey Halstead (Carol) and David Halstead (Patricia); ten grandchildren, Sam, Ben, Valerie, Tim, Tad, Zane, Alex, Carla, Jay and Nico; great grandson Cash; brother Steve Vosika (Pat), sister-in-law Virginia Vosika; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother David Vosika.
Mary will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
