In Remembrance

Martin Oliver Larsen, 75 of Meadowlands, MN passed away on Thursday, April 18th, 2024 at St Luke’s hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on November 5th 1948 in International Falls to Arthur and Arlene Larsen. He grew up with his six siblings in the Morgan Park area.

He played some Junior college hockey and went on to coach Pee-Wee hockey for a couple years and in the off season you could often find him out fishing.

Marty drove truck for a few years and in his spare time he loved to spend time with his grandchildren whether it be clowning around or attending their sporting events as he was a huge fan of all sports. He also was a great supporter and volunteer of Duluths “Blues Festival” for many years where he met one of his favorite performers and great friends, Big Walter Smith. Marty also enjoyed supporting local community funds, favorite probably being the girl scouts as he could never have too many boxes of the girl scout cookies. 

In 2019 Marty married Jeannie (the love of his life, they were together for a total of 24 years), her children Billy DeMars, Sherri DeMars, Crystal Saice, Darrin Saice; numerous grandchildren and two great-grandchildren) He’s also survived by his children; son, Cory Larsen (grandchildren Sierra and Erik) daughter Kelly Larsen (grandchildren Kori and Michael);Marty’s siblings; brother, Jerry (Marlene) Larsen, sister Pat (Louis) St. George, sister Phyllis Marunich, sister Gloria (Ron) Horn, sister Donna Cora and sister Jan Robillard; and many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. Marty will be greatly missed but never forgotten by many.
