In Remembrance

Liita Ann-Marie Zastera Gagnon, 43, has ended her almost nine-year battle with stage four metastatic breast cancer. Liita was born on January 24, 1980, in Cloquet, MN. She received her wings on September 13, 2023. Liita married Noah Gagnon, the love of her life, on June 25, 2005, in Cloquet, MN.

Liita earned a BS degree in Psychology from UWS (she was on the Dean’s List), an AA degree in Nursing from Fond du Lac and a BSN degree in Nursing from Bemidji State University. Liita’s entire nursing career was with Essentia Health/St. Mary’s/ Miller Dwan in Duluth. Liita enjoyed horseback riding, caring for her horses and dogs, spending time with family and friends, special trips with Noah, reading and gardening. She will be remembered for her ready smile, kindness and respect for everyone.

She has been greeted by her grandparents Joe & Ann Zastera and Lloyd & Liita Crotteau, Aunt Carolyn Zastera, Uncle George Crotteau and many four-legged friends.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Noah Gagnon and loving furbabies Isobel and Maevis. Her parents Frank & Julie Zastera and Gayanne Campbell; her mother-in-law Claudia Gagnon; her brother and sister-in-law Jason & Cori Zastera; her sisters-in-law Chamalis Gagnon and Rykki Gagnon; her stepsisters and husbands Holly & Wayne Osberg and Jennifer & Adam Kuhlman; her stepbrothers and wives Dan & Stephanie Krisak and Nathan & Kristen Krisak; her aunts and uncles Jody Zastera, Robin & Brian Johnson, Colleen Anderson, Brian Crotteau, Jon & Kim Johnson and Jeff Johnson; her cousin Josh & Beth Johnson; her nieces and nephews Iylee Gagnon, Jack Brown, Hazel & Forrest Kuhlman, Gunnar Krisak, Grace & Bjorn Krisak.
