Leonard Aird
August 17, 1944 - May 12, 2021
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Leonard F. “Sunny” Aird, age 76, died on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Superior Rehabilitation. He was born on August 17, 1944 in San Luis Obispo, CA to Vernon and Colleen (LaJoie) Aird. He served in the United States Air Force where he learned to work on computers in the early 1960s. Hired by Xerox as a computer technician, he lived and worked in Los Angeles for more than 40 years before retiring to Superior in 2009.
He is survived by his mother, Colleen Aird of Duluth; sisters, Mary Lindstedt of Virginia Beach, VA and Patricia Nelson of Maple, WI; brothers, John (Kathy) Aird of South Range, WI and Michael (Caroline) Theiss-Aird of Vista, CA; son, Christopher (Nina) Dopson of Marshall, WI; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition he is survived by special friend, Gloria Stefanik, of Los Angeles, CA with whom he enjoyed watching movies old and new and visiting with retired TV and Movie Stars at celebrity gatherings. He was always a gracious and generous host to family and friends who visited Los Angeles.
While he struggled with chronic illness most of his life, he never lost his quick wit and enduring sense of humor. He is loved and will be greatly missed. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
