Laurie Ann Schiller, 62, of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully on June 13th, 2023, from complications of an infection and a long battle of chronic illnesses.

Laurie was born in Grand Marais, Minnesota on December 1st, 1960. She attended Cook County High School but received her GED after moving to Southern California. She had worked in the hospitality industry in Duluth, MN before moving to Two Harbors and managing Laurie Anne’s Bar & Grill (now The Landing). She then obtained her Real Estate license and sold lake home units at Superior Shores Resort in Two Harbors, MN. She had done some traveling before moving to Bonita Springs, FL, Villa de Bravo, Mexico, then back to Southern California for some time before finally returning back to Duluth, MN.

Laurie is survived by her three children and three grandchildren. The oldest, Steven A. Schiller, wife Shannan, and their daughter Vivian of Marshall, MN. The middle, Lindsay Schiller, wife Emily, their son Casey and daughter Cameron of Attleboro, MA. The youngest, Mark Pearson Jr. of Palm Springs, CA. She is also survived by many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and cousins from Minnesota and the surrounding states. Laurie will also be greatly missed by her dog, Scooby.

Laurie is preceded in death by her brother, Cory Johnson of Poquoson, VA, her mother, Bonita Johnson of Grand Marais, MN, and stepfather, Marty Clark of Duluth, MN.

Laurie had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile; she will be remembered by the many lives she had touched and by how giving she was. Laurie always had a positive mindset and was really looking forward to getting better and visiting her family. She loved to travel and absolutely loved the ocean. She was a very strong fighter, but we know that she is finally free from the pain she’d endured for so many years…She is now on her journey to shores that we cannot see. “Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean.” – David Searls

The family wants to send thanks and gratitude to Cardinal Comfort Care of Two Harbors, MN for all of their care, kindness, and support. The Celebration of Life service will be held on August 16th, 2023 in Two Harbors, MN. More details will be shared via social media when they are confirmed. Arrangements for this day are being handled by Laurie’s kids, Lindsay, Steve, and Mark
