From the very beginning of our friendship, back at Morgan Park, Kelly had a way of making ordinary days feel memorable. Whether we were laughing, crying or sharing stories only we could fully understand, she brought positivity to the negative, never a harsh word and made me a better person. Kelly brought a lasting friendship of over 45 years, she had the biggest heart, the brightest smile, complete loyalty, and was the most genuine person I know. She brough so much into my life in ways I will never forget. To call Kelly my “Forever Friend” feels both perfectly true and still not enough. Kelly was the person who showed up, who listened without judgment, who celebrated the good moments and listened when the tough moment came. There was comfort in Kelly’s presence, and there was strength in knowing that I never had to face life’s challenges alone. What I will remember most is who Kelly was: kind, genuine, a true friend and unforgettable. Those of us who were lucky enough to know Kelly were changed by that friendship, and I know I am a better person because Kelly was part of my life. Grief is the price of having loved someone so deeply, and today that grief, heartbreak, is real. I am grateful for every memory, every laugh, every smile, and every moment of friendship that Kelly gave me. The memories we shared will remain a part of me forever. Kelly’s friendship was a gift I will carry for the rest of my days. Though saying goodbye is heartbreaking, I find comfort in knowing that a bond like ours does not end. It lives on in the memories we share, the lessons we keep, and the love that remains. Rest peacefully, my “Forever Friend”. Thank you for walking beside me on this journey we call life, for never giving up on our friendship, and for leaving a bit of you behind, a bit of your contagious smile, a bit of brightness in my life that will never go out. Kelly was a light in every room she walked into. She had the best laugh, and it was so contagious that you couldn't help but laugh with her. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcomed, comfortable, and cared for. What stood out to me the most was how deeply she loved her family. If you knew Kelly, you felt like you knew her family too. Every time she talked about her children or grandchildren, her face lit up with the biggest smile. It was impossible not to see how proud she was of all of you. I had the privilege of working with Kelly in Guest Services at Essentia for a little over a year, but the impact she had on me (and so many others) will last far longer. I will always remember her kindness, compassion, and the joy she brought wherever she went. On behalf of so many of us in Guest Services, thank you for sharing Kelly with us. She made our workplace brighter every single day, and she will be deeply missed.
