Julie Lynn Lundin, 62, passed away peacefully, on October 18, 2023, surrounded by her family.

When she was born, her parents were told she would only live to be thirty. She defied the odds and showed the world that having a disability would not define who she was. She attended Park Point school and graduated from Duluth Central High School. Julie participated in Special Olympics track and field and bowling which became her sport of choice. She worked at the Special Tea Café and Goodwill, but her life changed the moment she got her job at UDAC. She worked there for 13 years and every time she received her paycheck she danced with joy. Nothing was going to stop her from living her life to the fullest.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ronald and Janice and sister-in-law Roni Lundin. She is survived by her sisters, Ronda (Paul) Bliss, Nancy (Jon) Taverna, and her brother Ronald. Her nephews, Spencer Bliss, James Taverna and Tyler Lundin, nieces, Jennifer (Tyler) Carlstad, Kaylee (Streeter) Dockter, Kacie, and Rylee. Three great nephews and one great niece, many aunts, uncles, and cousins who she loved dearly.

Julie was blessed to be in the loving care of her foster family Ryan and Lora Kesselhon, Havilah, Maren, and Ruth who cared for her for the past 8 years. In addition to the Kesselhon family, Julie was also blessed to be in the loving care of her foster family Julie and Michael Balmer. These families provided Julie with the ability to spread her wings and experience all that she wanted to. Julie enjoyed her housemates, Betsy, Nikki, Carrie, and Wanda. They had wonderful adventures together.

The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to these families and to the staff at Essentia Home Hospice for the exceptional care provided for our cupcake.
