John Johnson
April 7, 1952 - January 7, 2024
John Johnson, 71, passed away on January 7, 2024, at Solvay Hospice House, with his loving family by his side.
John was born on April 7, 1952, and grew up in Duluth. He moved to Mauii, Hawaii, in 1970. He worked in construction for many years and later managed a bowling alley. He returned to Duluth in 2020.
John was a kind and gentle soul, a thoughtful and generous person. He enjoyed long walks and reading. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jan Kathan; and his brother, Frank Bedard.
He is survived by his daughter Lori Moreno and granddaughter Ally Moreno; daughter Ann Brady and grandchildren April, Brianna, Katita, Autumn, Brenden and Diamond; two great-grandchildren; brother, Pete Bedard, sister Susan Hansen, nieces Nicole, Heather, Rochelle, a great-niece and a great-nephew, aunts and uncles and many cousins.
The family would like to acknowledge Dr. Fernandez and the St. Lukes Oncology Dept., the amazing nurses at Solvay Hospice House, Pat, Bridget, Mel, Betsy and Annette. We will be forever grateful for your compassionate care of John. A special thank you to Cathy and Jerry Carlson and Pete Bedard, who were at his side throughout his journey.
Memorial service at Peace United Church of Christ, 1111 N. 11th Ave. E., Duluth, MN 55805 on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements by Affordable Cremation & Burial.
