+J.M.J.+ May the Soul of Jeff rest in peace. Jeff and I were classmates in the Seminary for two years. I treasured his friendship, and he was a help in so many ways. I will celebrate Mass for his Soul's happy repose. May the Holy Family of Nazareth comfort all who miss +Jeff.

My husband and I both worked with Jeff at Norwest bank in South MPLS. He was always a very caring and kind person. Jeff had such a sense of humor and would keep us laughing. It's been many years since we last saw him, but we will never forget him and continue to think fondly of him . May he rest in peace with his Lord . God bless his family. So sorry for your loss

Jeff was a bright shining light, and friends with every single person he ever met! He was the first friend we made when we moved to the twin cities in the very late 80s, and was an important part of our lives for so long. He even took care of our first son for a couple of months when I went back to work after maternity leave (and takes credit for how awesome he turned out!). Jeff left this world far too soon, and will be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.

Oh, Teri, I'm so sorry that you have lost your brother. As soon as I found this obit and saw his picture, I knew he was your brother. You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you navigate coming to terms with this loss and move to remembering and celebrating his life and your love for him. Take care. Denise

Sr. Longenecker was my Kindergarten teacher on the first year that Park Spanish Immersion began. He was such a blast. I remember him (as well as anyone can at such a young age) as someone that taught with his full heart. My mom still tells me stories about how I could never sit still in class and that he said if I didn't shape up I was going to "grow up to be a waitress"! Ha! So naturally as a kindergartener, I was THRILLED and went home and played waitress every day for the rest of the year 🙂 Gracia para todo Sr Longenecker!!

I was in the first class of PSI, and Sr. Longenecker was my kindergarten teacher. He was so kind and always made the classroom feel really warm, comforting, and fun. My favorite memory is being pushed on the swings by him— he would push us as high as we could go and for as long as we wanted. (When you’re 5, that’s a long time!!) My mom always talks about me coming home and telling her he was so nice and fun, how much I loved him, and that I wished he was my dad. I know he will be very missed, and fondly remembered, by so many people!

Teri, I’m so sorry to hear about Jeffrey. He was a kind man and very warm. I met him only once (maybe again as a child) when he lived in the same street as my stepson. He was delighted when we found the Mankato connection. Take care and I’m thinking of you and your family. Julie Zimmerman
