Jeanne C. Schake
(May 23, 1943-March 8, 2024)
Jeanne C. Schake, 80, passed away peacefully at home with her family and Hospice nurse Anna.
She was born in Denver, CO to Harold and Edith Frank. The family moved around eventually settling down in Wrenshall, MN where she grew up. Jeanne’s life took on a new chapter during high school when she met the love of her life Armond. She graduated from Wrenshall High School in 1961 and married Armond in 1963. They had four children, one son, and three daughters. Jeanne was a loving, caring and giving person who lived a long and fulfilling life. She was a devoted wife, mother and Grandmother who cherished her family and found solace in spending time with her family. Jeanne was proud of her four kids and three grandsons and wasn’t afraid to say so.
Jeanne held numerous jobs including waitressing, shucking corn, selling Avon, cashiering at White’s Drug, assembling newspapers for the Cloquet Pine Knot, and her ultimate favorite, dealing Blackjack at the casino.
Jeanne appreciated the simple things in life….. fishing, camping, crocheting, knitting, crosswords, Yahtzee, scrabble, trivia, game shows, listening to music, concerts, Elvis Presley and playing bingo. Her artistic talents were expressed through her writings, poetry and short stories about love, family, fishing, and animals. Jeanne cherished spending time with her siblings. Whether it was a scenic drive up the north shore for lunch with her sisters, a relaxing time fishing and camping with her brother and sister-in-law, or a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Cancun with several of her siblings.
Armond was unequivocally Jeanne’s biggest supporter, steadfast and standing by her side through all of life’s ups and downs. Jeanne held a significant place in her heart for spending time with Armond. Her favorites included fishing, camping, antelope hunting, traveling out West and playing slot machines. Besides remaining best friends throughout the years, Jeanne and Armond had a love like no other. It was both admirable and inspiring to those who knew them. A love like that will be deeply treasured forever by Armond.
Jeanne is survived by her best friend and doting husband of 60 years, Armond; Her children Leah (Carl) Guldner, Tammy (Tim) Weiss, Tod Schake (Anita Towne), and Michele (Joe) Tellinghuisen. Her three Grandsons; Joshua Guldner, Jacob Guldner, and Brandon Golden. Her brother Harold (Margaret) Frank, Jr, her sisters Roma Zacharopules, Veronica (Rick) Bong, and Robbon Smith and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Harold Frank, Sr, her mother Edith Frank, her sisters Kathleen Ryan, Karon Fyten, Carol Ebrahim and brothers Ronald Frank and Billie Dean Frank and numerous cousins.
Jeanne’s path was not an easy one but the love and support she received helped her through her journey and she appreciated it immensely.
Jeanne weathered her storms with courage, strength, dignity, and determination.
Deepest gratitude to Jeanne’s Hospice nurse Anna who Jeanne absolutely treasured. Anna created a haven of comfort for Jeanne in her final days. Her compassion made an immersible difference in Jeanne’s life.
When asked what she wanted people to know about her she said “I don’t want people to grieve me too long and I had a great life, the very best husband and fantastic kids.“
Please consider a donation to the American Heart Association in honor of Jeanne’s extended battle with heart disease.
