A private service will be held with a celebration of life to be held later in 2021 when conditions are safe to allow her remembrance.

With her loving husband, two daughters and their husbands holding her, Janet passed into God’s care on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Duluth, Minnesota.
Janet was born in Duluth, June 18, 1943, to Carl and Lois Stoddard. She married the love of her life, Terry, in May 1967 and they have remained happily together for the next 53 years.
Janet attended Duluth Central High School and graduated from Waner School of Cosmetology. She was the owner/operator of salons for over 45 years in the Duluth area.
She was our loved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and is now at peace and pain free. She won her 19 year battle with cancer, but lost the battle with congestive cardiac failure.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jane, brother Charles, and brother-in-law Pat Diskin. She is survived by her loving husband Terry, daughters Lynnette (Steve) Steele, Johnalynn (Joseph) Dorshefski, grandchildren Joseph Dorshefski III, Caitlin (Daniel) Duchak, great granddaughter Dani Duchak. Sisters, Judy Thompson, Carol and Jenny, sister-in-law, Alice Diskin, many cousins, a special niece Donna Grew, her furry protector, Max and countless friends.
Janet’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s 7th floor ICU, especially Nurse Tyler, for all their wonderful and compassionate care during the last week.
