A celebration of life will be held at the Jacobson Community Center, 65534
Great River Road, Jacobson, MN 55752 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on May 31,2026. Food
will be provided and BYOB is permitted. Bring a story to share with everyone about Gerry.
A memorial will be held at the Minnesota State Veteran Cemetery at a later date.
Gerald Duane Suomala, of Duluth MN, passed away at home on May 10, 2026. Gerald was
born on July 18, 1952. He enjoyed saunas, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling, fishing in Canada and
going south for the winter. Gerald is survived by his wife Robin, 2 brothers Donald and JoAnne
Suomala and Richard and Harriet Suomala, 3 sons Chris and Jodie Suomala, Dale and Yvette
Suomala and Daniel and Billie Suomala, along with a great grandchild, grandchildren, nieces
and nephews. Gerald is predeceased by his parents Tauno and Elizabeth (Betsy) Suomala,
and sister Sharon.
