George Johnson
July 2, 1936 - September 9, 2022
George Kenneth Johnson, 86 of Grand Marais, Minnesota died peacefully on September 9, 2022.
George grew up in Hovland, Minnesota where he attended grade school until grade 6 and graduated high school in Grand Marais, Minnesota.
George loved trapping, fishing, hunting, carving diamond willow walking sticks and spending time with his family. He worked construction most of his life and one of his many great projects was building the stairways and handicap accessible walkways at the parks from Gooseberry Falls to High Falls up the North Shore.
George loved his family most of all, he is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mabel Johnson, sister Charlene, brother Richard, son Cory, nephew Jeff Rowe, granddaughter Sheena and his previous wives Annabelle and Bonnieta.
George is survived by his wife Gloria, brother LeRoy Johnson, sister Bobbi (John) Lord, his children Darrell Johnson, Ray Johnson, Randi (Kevin) Kimball, Sheryl (Ron) Toland, Jeannie Johnson, (Corey Dahl), Michael (Debbie) Johnson, stepchildren Charles Nylund, Laurie Schiller, Julie Hannahs and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and his good friend Doug Seim.
