Trapper”

Fred E. Hitt III

Fred E. Hitt III, 64 of Bloomville NY passed away peacefully from pancreatic cancer on Monday December 7th 2020. Fred was born on October 4th 1956 to Fred and Trudy Hitt.

After he graduated from South Kortright Centeral School he went into the Air Force and trained as a Dog handler. This may be why every dog loved him. He retired from the international Union of elevator constructors and then spent many winters in Minnesota.

Fred is fondly remembered for his sense of humor, contagious laugh, endless kindness, teasing, wonderful smile, emptied his pockets where ever he went. He was a friend to many, anyone that knew him loved him. As a child he was a avid trapper, as that is how he got his nickname. He was able to catch trout by a near by brook with his bare hands. Then his love for deer hunting and ice fishing brought him to Minnesota for many years. Where the whole Wrenshall community loved him and where he became friends with everyone. Especially the family of Jeremy, Amy, Remy and Morgan, which he ending up becoming their family through adoption.

A special thank you to St. Lukes Hospice for the over and beyond wonderful care they provided. We will be doing a small service in the Spring. Arrangements provided by Affordable Cremation and Burial, Duluth MN.
