Francis “Boots” Boedigheimer

Francis “Boots” Lee Boedigheimer, 86, of Cloquet Minnesota, passed away peacefully from cancer on Wednesday, November 25th, 2020 with his wife by his side. Boots was born on October 25th, 1934 in Cloquet to Roman Boedigheimer and Cecelia (Rosenthal) Boedigheimer.

Boots was married to Joan McKibbon on December 9, 1967 in Cloquet, MN. He joined the U.S. Army in 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1958. He retired from Potlatch Corp after 43 years.

Boots will be fondly remembered for his humor and quick wit which he passed on to his son Kelly, who also lost a battle to cancer in 2011.

Boots is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law Andrew and Hazel McKibbon, brothers Vernon, Donald, Kenneth, Gordon and Leslie, sister Mary Ann McCuskey, and his son Kelly Boedigheimer.

He is survived by his wife Joan, brother Cecil, step-daughters Cindy (George) Meger of Cloquet and Tammy (Larry) Zeadow of Townsend, Montana; step-son Scott Erickson of Cloquet, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Twin Ports Health Services in Superior, WI, and St. Luke’s Hospice for the wonderful care they provided. Per his request, there will be no service.
