Donna Mae Melde, 74, of Duluth, Minnesota, died August 10, 2022 at Edgewood Vista in Hermantown.
She was born January 7, 1948 in Duluth, the daughter of the late Olaf and Alice Benson. She was the 2nd of 5 siblings. On February 28, 1975, Donna married Robert James Melde.
She graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1966, and earned a 2 year associates degree in accounting from DAVTI. She worked at the Duluth Target for 10 years before leaving her position to raise her children. Donna was elected as a Supervisor in Rice Lake Township and served on the town board for three years. She enjoyed knitting, cooking, and time spent with family.
Donna is survived by her husband, Robert Melde; daughter Jennifer Melde of Sycamore, IL; son Andrew (Stacy) Melde of Superior, WI; son Ole Melde of Superior, WI; grandchildren Kelsie (Nick Olson), Ryley, and Sully Hopkins; great-grandchildren Adalyn Johnson, Lola, and Madden Olson; brother Dale (Linda) Benson of Duluth, MN; sister Delores Benson of Duluth, MN; brother Douglas (Duane Gajewski) Benson of Clearwater, FL; sister Christine (Erik Nelson) Glynn of Duluth, MN; mother-in-law Betty Melde of Proctor, MN; brother-in-law Douglas (Candace) Melde of Duluth, MN; sister-in-law Barbara Olson of Hermantown, MN; and sister-in-law Mary Melde of Proctor, MN.
