Dolores Mitchell, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on July 30, 2023.
Born June 30, 1935, Dolores grew up in Sawyer, MN then later moved to Duluth. She graduated from Denfeld High School.
She loved art, socializing with friends and family, attending her Wednesday card group and Red Hats. She enjoyed working and decorating for the seasons at the American Legion. She was a reliable home base for her family and friends.
Dolores was smart, creative, witty and fun. Her strength was unlimited. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Dolores is survived by her children David Smith, Christy Spokely (Shayne), Danny Smith and Julie Mitchell as well as grandchildren Cory (Stephanie), Patrick (Jennifer), Risa , Brian (Molly), Natalia , Nick (Courtney), Eric (Melissa), Tanya , Ben, Katie and numerous great grandchildren and family members. She is preceded in death by her parents Hans and Louise Zacher, mother (Louise) and brother (Lawrence), Ex-husband Pat Smith and husband Jerry Mitchell, daughters Terry Dubla, Shelly Smith and sons Scott Smith and Daniel Smith (died at birth), grandson Michael Hakes and daughter in law Debbie Smith.
