David W Endsley
June 14, 1925 - February 14, 2020
Per his request, there will not be a formal service. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
David Wright Endsley, Duluth resident, died at the age of 94 on February 14, 2020. He died at home surrounded by family. He was born June 14, 1925 in Robinson, Illinois.
After high school David served in WWII in the Army Air Corp. He later attended Kenyon College, where he earned a degree in Economics. He married his wife, Marguerite Shelgren, in 1948, and they raised their family in Robinson where David ran the family business, a food distribution service company. After retiring from his business, David and Marguerite made Duluth their retirement home. They also raised their three granddaughters while living in Duluth. David loved spending time with family, woodworking, traveling, and spending time by Lake Superior.
David is survived by his daughters Sarah Endsley and Carolyn (Neil) Dunlap, his granddaughters Erin (John) Endsley, Kacey (Ben) Endsley, Lorah (Curt) Bongiovanni, and Kate (Chad) Endsley, six great-grandsons, and one great-great-granddaughter. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred Endsley and Georgia Brown, his brother Fred Endsley, his wife Marguerite, and his son John Endsley.
Per his request, there will not be a formal service. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date. The family thanks Essentia Hospice staff for their support and care. Memorials can be made to a charitable organization of your choice.
