In Remembrance

Dale Allen Ostby of Barnum MN passed away peacefully at Solvay Hospice House on 12/1/2023. Born to Norman and Jean (Differding) Ostby in 1951, Dale moved to Barnum from Lead SD with his family in 1966 where he met and married the love of his life, Paula. He enjoyed spending all of his time with his family and friends, creating lasting memories on a personal level with everyone he interacted with. Playing, teaching, and being surrounded by music was one of Dales passions and a defining characteristic.

He is proceeded in death by his wife Paula (Jones) Ostby, Sisters Norma (Ostby) Lemon, Lou-Ann (Ostby) Miller, and Brother Lyle (Ostby). He is survived by his siblings, Terry (Kim) Ostby, Norman (Diamond) Ostby, Kreg (Sara) Ostby, Cheryl (Jim) Petersen, Alice (Bruce) Ostby. His children, Scott (Tonya) Ostby of Barnum, Lonny (Kristy Johnson) Ostby of Barnum, Jennifer (Jason) Montgomery of Cloquet, and Bonus Daughter, Jodi (Glenn) Pierce-Dianoski of Duluth. His Grandchildren, Adam (Darlene), Hailey, Conner, Kaleb, Brianna, Sierra (Keityn), Brayden, Dakotah, Shyann, Gabrielle, Jake, Gemma and Great-Grandchildren, Lochlan, Zora, and Milo. And countless extended family and friends that he was very close with.

In order to honor his wishes, a funeral is not being arranged, as he would rather his friends and family gather together casually in remembrance and joy.
