In Remembrance

Curtis B Nelson born 10/5/1941 in Two Harbors MN died 4/19/2023 at age 81.

Curt grew up in Knife River in his early days then his parents moved to the North Shore of

Lake Superior near French river. He graduated from Clover Valley high school in

1960.He married Mary Lou Eiken in 1962 and started a family on 40 acres in Clover Valley on

the Bergquist rd. and he worked for Mathisen Tire in Duluth.

In 1974 Curt headed to Alaska to work for Goodyear on the Trans Alaska Pipeline until its completion

in 1979 then continued working as a heavy duty Tireman in Prudhoe Bay oilfield until 1985.

Curt lived in Soldotna Alaska during most of the late 70’s and thru the 80’s and took many

trips fishing on the Kenai River for Silver and King salmon and out on the ocean for Halibut.

In later life he moved to the Hibbing area and like to hunt and go walleye fishing with his friend Al

throughout northern Minnesota. He also made several fishing trips to Alaska throughout his life.

In his final 9 years he lived out his live in Superior WI where he passed away.

Curt is proceeded in death by his parents Martha and Frank Nelson, daughter Larissa Nelson and

grandson Ryan Sholin

He is survived by his sons Shawn (Missy) Nelson and Joel (Kerri) Nelson both of Soldotna Alaska.

7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

His ashes will be scattered on the Kenai River and put with his mother at a later date.

The family will have a private service in Alaska.
