Funeral service will be held 12:00pm Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Round Lake Presbyterian Church, Tamarack, MN. Visitation begins at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow. Services by Affordable Cremation & Burial.
Clara V. Wakefield, 100, died early Saturday morning, February 22, 2020 in Aitkin, MN, peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born September 12, 1919 to William and Mary (Wiedemann) Schmehl in Tamarack, MN.
Clara was a great homemaker and mother. She enjoyed baking, gardening, crocheting, knitting socks, taking her two mile daily walk, family picnics, watching the Twins play, and trips to the casino. Clara was the best mother anyone could have asked for and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by; her parents; husband Harold; son Mark, daughter Mary; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, and four brothers.
Clara is survived by; six children, Bob Wakefield, Joe (Sue) Wakefield, Donald ‘Shorty’ (Linda) Wakefield, Edie Gelineau, Judith (Tom) Farrell, Clifford (Nan) Wakefield; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-granchildren; also special friends Jo and Vi.
