Carol Christine Schoch, 78, of Lake Nebagamon, WI passed away peacefully in her home with her children by her side. Born April 29, 1940 in Cudahy, WI to John and Viota (Kofed) Roinestad, Carol was a long time resident of Lake Nebagamon where she and her (late) husband Paul moved in 1978 to raise their 4 children. Carol was a school bus driver for the School District of Maple for many years. She loved the kids she worked with, watching many of them grow from kindergarten to graduation and through the years she could be found anywhere getting hugs from “her” kids that she greeted daily with “Good Morning Sunshine!” After retiring, Carol continued to volunteer within the school district so that she could keep working with kids. For many years she worked a summer job at the “Garden House” in Belknap Plaza, where she could share a smile and her love for plants with visiting patrons. Carol almost always had a smile and a kind word that would encourage others to do that same-often cracking a joke or singing a song to make someone smile.

Carol loved theatre arts, music and anything beautiful, she enjoyed crafts, canning and baking. She started a small business called “Carol’s Canning Co. – Schochingly Delicious”, and spent her free time selling her goodies at craft shows and bazaars throughout NW WI. Carol loved going to Big Top at Chautauqua and the theatre with friends. Wednesday night Carol could often be found at “Sidelines” on Lake Minnesuing amongst friends for whom she cared dearly.

Carol was preceded in death by; her loving husband of 44 years, Paul (2007); her parents; brothers Norman and Vearl Roinestad.

She is survived by; four children Julie Rice of Mebane, NC; Audrey (Jeff) Stone of of Solon Springs, WI; Pauline (Rob) Erickson of Phoenix, AZ; and Paul A. (Tony) Schoch of Superior, WI; Grandchildren Connor (Erin) Rice, Christopher (Amanda) Rice, Devin Stone, Braydon Stone, Morissa Erickson, Olivia Erickson and great-grandchildren Huxley Stone and Brylee Stone; Close to her heart was also Lea and Mom Wermter whom she loved dearly and referred to them as her “adopted” family.
