Betty Lood, 81, of Duluth, passed away Friday October 9, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Betty was born in Twickenham, England, to Ted and Alice (Walker) Russell. Growing up during WWII, Betty often shared her experiences and stories with her family. Prior to coming to the U.S., she worked as a dental assistant in an office that catered to the London elite. Betty was a skilled ballroom dancer, and she enjoyed arts and crafts, winning many county fair awards; her creativity was endless.
Betty was selfless with a big heart, and put others before herself. Her children and grandchildren were the light of her life, and she inspired her children to give of themselves to the community. Her grace and beauty will live forever in the hearts of those she has touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Alice; and her daughter Karen (Edwards) Frye.
Betty is survived by her loving husband Jerry; children Stephen (Kris) Edwards, Tracy (John) Huotari, David (Anita) Lood; grandchildren Jesse, Shaun, Donovan, Stephanie, Brooke, Haley, Brandon, Jonathon; great-grandchildren Ethan, Dylan, Braylee; dear friend Mary Lepak; extended family and friends.
